Last year young woman lost her life. We could all see it and realize cruelty and brutality which happened in Iran during the protest against election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Her name is Neda Agha-Soltan.
Her name is now written in many places. She became a symbol of protests and fight for truth.
She was protesting against the government in Tehran, Iran. She stood up for a good cause and got shot by government.
Tragically, she became a hero and national symbol for bravery and strength.
Someone from the crowd used his camera and that video was uploaded to the Internet. Citizen journalism did its job.
World was shocked and news and video was spreading without stopping.
Now, credits for that video, for the first time, one very prestigious award, George Polk Award for Videography, was given to an anonymous winners.

“This video footage was seen by millions and became an iconic image of the Iranian resistance. We don’t know who took it or who uploaded it, but we know it has news value,” said John Darnton, curator of the George Polk Awards. “
Thanks to citizens who had courage and took this video Neda’s name will stay forever live and as a witness of protests and hope for justice.
