I started to follow citizen journalism development maybe 2-3 years ago. At that time almost nobody heard anything about it. You couldn’t simply explain conception and what are you talking about.

The only source and explanation was in Wikipedia.com where you could get some info about citizen journalism.

There were few enthusiasts like myself and nothing else. That was the beginning.

Like every start, it was slow and without response. It took time and lot of work, back pain and glasses. But hoping to get better and wider.

Now it is a phenomenon.

Almost everyone is talking about it.

Now every news is somehow related to citizen journalism news.

Every TV station or regular media has one or two citizen journalism sites in its brood.

And all of that is great. I really think so. It was about time.

It’s like feeling free to speak about things that you want to mention, without waiting to hear it from somebody else.

Having huge space to put your thoughts about some not so famous event and by doing it you  actually have opportunity to place that event in the center of attention.

There is so much that citizen journalism can offer.

But most of all it’s not so easy. It’s more for those types of people who are naturally curious and energetic than for lazy people who like to get everything ready and done.

Great thing is that it is free, available and of course very interesting.

With newspapers dying left and right, I think citizen journalism is poised to fill the gap.
