Citizen journalism is like a citizen surgery?!
Is there some other anti citizen journalism reason?
Because this became boring.
Wherever I see some discussion about citizen journalism all I can find against it is citizen surgery or citizen dentist and similar stuff.
Is this all they can think of? All evidence and reasons why citizen journalism is not good.
Isn’t it a bit shallow?
If you think something is right for you and you like it, I suppose you have your reasons for it. And if you have things you dislike, I suppose you have reasons for it, too.
Things like citizen surgery or citizen dentist are more like – I hate citizen journalism but I don’t know why, or just I hate it.
Of course that no one thinks how citizen journalism is same with citizen surgery, because there is no such thing as citizen surgery and will never be.
First and basic because of this. Journalism and medicine are not the same thing. Meaning, journalist and doctor are totally different. Only with the fact that doctor can be both, a doctor and a journalist, but journalist can never be a doctor unless he gets degree in medicine.
But, every person, no matter the occupation or education can present news in a way so other people can understand and appreciate it.
Of course, every person will do citizen journalism in his own way, in his own words, pictures or video. But whether is he going to be top citizen journalist and have thousands readers, that’s another thing.
Mainly, enjoy in citizen journalism without a fear of getting a heart surgery by an amateur.
And, just to be clear. I’ve heard about metaphor and certainly know what it means. It doesn’t fit and stand here. It’s not even similar. Some things should never be compared.

Because my opinion on this is that citizen journalism is not a profession. It is your contribution for better and faster information.
