After a week of Haiti earthquake things there are far away from getting fixed. It’s normal since the quake was horrific and victims are
counting still everyday.
Like that isn’t enough, another aftershock hit Haiti again.
This will be one of worst tragedies human kind ever lived. And we, who sit in our safe homes, are definitely informed about their troubles. And we help.
We help as much as we can. We help because we see terrific pictures of hurt children, hungry and scared, old people who can’t move or get a glass of water. We help because there are people who are ordinary citizens and journalists at the same time.
Brave people who are at the place and know how hard is to imagine someones pain. They bring us that pain closer. Through their photos, videos and texts we can smell the dust and fear, we can sympathize parents who look for food to feed hungry mouth of their little ones. They woke up our hearts and our strength to look a bit further and see someone else. To realize that there is bigger problem than ours. And we didn’t forget about Haiti after two days. They are every moment present and we know how dangerous is to be on the streets of
Port-au-Prince.
I am grateful because citizen journalists showed the world horror and world responded with care and love. We showed to ourselves how well we can unite in one mission and do good.
And we mustn’t stop until Haiti gets all the help they need.
